Installing concertina razor wire (coiled razor tape) on a wall is a high-security measure that must be done carefully and correctly. It is typically mounted on a bracket system that holds the coil securely and projects it away from the wall.
First, plan the layout and mark the positions for the wall brackets, spacing them approximately every 3 feet (1 meter). Using a hammer drill and appropriate anchors for the wall material (brick, concrete, etc.), securely fasten the brackets to the wall. The brackets are designed to hold the concertina wire and often have a V-shaped or circular cradle. Wearing heavy-duty cut-resistant gloves, unroll the concertina coil and carefully place it into the brackets. For a single coil, it can be laid directly in the cradle. For enhanced security, a double-coil system is used: one coil sits in the bracket, and a second coil is placed on top and lashed to the bottom coil with stainless steel ties. Ensure all connections are secure and that the sharp, blade-like projections are oriented outward to serve as an effective deterrent.
